Crispy corn chilly pepper





Ingredients:

  • Corn kernels - 200 gms        
  • Vegetable oil - for deep frying
  • Corn flour to dust the corn – 100 gms
  • Onion - one - chopped
  • Spring onions - a few, chopped
  • Green chillis - 2, chopped
  • Pepper powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Vinegar - 1/2 tsp
  • Soya sauce - 1/2 tsp
  • Sugar - 1 tsp
  • Salt - 1 tsp

Preparation:


  • Par boil the corn kernels and drain the water completely.
  • Dust the corn kernels evenly with cornflour making sure each kernel is coated well and keep this aside for about 30 mins.
  • Heat a wok and add enough oil required for frying.
  • Fry the dusted corn kernels in steaming hot oil, till they turn crisp and golden brown.
  • Once they turn brown, remove them from oil and drain excess oil using a tissue paper.
  • Heat a pan and add one table spoon of oil.
  • Add the chopped green chillies, and spring onions and saute them for a few mins.
  • Add the fried corn kernels as well, along with vinegar, soy sauce and pepper powder and mix them together.
  • Garnish with spring onions and serve it hot.
