Paal Poli



Ingredients:

  • Powdered Rawa - 2 cups
  • Maida (optional) - 1cup
  • Ghee - 1 table spoon
  • Milk - 1 liter
  • Sugar - 200gms
  • Oil - for deep frying
  • Cashews, Almonds, Cardamom powder, pistachios and saffron for garnishing.

Preparation:

  • Mix rawa, maida and ghee in a bowl and make a smooth dough. Keep the dough aside for 15 minutes.
  • Flatten them into small pooris and deep fry them in oil.
  • Place the pooris on a serving bowl.
  • Boil milk in a pan on low flame till the milk reduces by half its quantity.
  • Add 200gms sugar to the milk and keep stirring till the sugar dissolves.
  • Add cardamom powder and a pinch of saffron to the thickened milk.
  • Pour this milk on the pooris only about 10 minutes before serving and ensure that the pooris are just slightly soggy.
  • Top it over with finely cut cashews, almonds and pistachios.
