Paal Poli
Ingredients:
- Powdered Rawa - 2
cups
- Maida (optional) -
1cup
- Ghee - 1 table
spoon
- Milk - 1 liter
- Sugar - 200gms
- Oil - for deep
frying
- Cashews,
Almonds, Cardamom powder, pistachios and saffron for
garnishing.
Preparation:
- Mix rawa, maida and ghee in a
bowl and make a smooth dough. Keep the dough aside for 15 minutes.
- Flatten them into small pooris
and deep fry them in oil.
- Place the pooris on a serving
bowl.
- Boil milk in a pan on low flame
till the milk reduces by half its quantity.
- Add 200gms sugar to the milk
and keep stirring till the sugar dissolves.
- Add cardamom powder and a pinch
of saffron to the thickened milk.
- Pour this milk on the pooris
only about 10 minutes before serving and ensure that the pooris are just
slightly soggy.
- Top it over with finely cut
cashews, almonds and pistachios.
